You'll be fine!
If you are here because you found out you may have a baby with Down syndrome or were just surprised (like us 8 years ago) with this unexpected twist - do not despair.
Gabe has been one of the two most wonderful things to ever happen in our lives. We could not imagine life without him and he is truly a special boy.
By August, I will post photos of him from Birth to today and describe what it was like to suddenly become a parent of a child with Down syndrome and what it has meant to my life to raise him.
In the meantime, I'll be happy to correspond with you....just post a comment to any of the photos and I'll get it immediately and respond quickly as well.
When Gabriel was born the Chair of the San Diego Down Syndrome Association visited us in the hospital and showed us pictures of her son who looked quite, "normal." That was the first bit of hope we had that things might not be so bad, and I hope this website will provide that comfort to you and others.

Gabe is a cute kid. You're absolutely right about our kids being very special. As you know already, these kiddos touch many people in ways you and I may never even begin to imagine. I look forward to reading more about Gabe.
Gabes a handsom young chap. I enjoyed your pictures. We have a daughter with DS who is 15 months now and she is the love of our life along with our other two kids.
My wife, who blogs under Beloved Life told me about your site because I was asking her if she knew of any men who were blogging about their children with DS. It seems we are out numbered. Many of my readers are women. They have tremendous insite, but it is always nice to hear a comrads opinion of things.

A very positive Blog. It's great to see the pictures of Gabe just being a kid. I'm a dad to my 9 month old son named Will. My wife and I were also surprised, as we didn't know about the Ds until he arrived. He is the light of our lives, and we are taking the challenges in stride. First and foremost we are loving our new baby. I have to agree with bstrong's comments above, it's great to see another dad in the Ds online community. Thanks for the uplifting blog, it made my day.
I love all your pictures! We have a lot in common... I am also a mother to a child with trisomy 21... he came to me through adoption so another thing we have in common.
